Flu-Free Guarantee: Travel with Confidence
TNT Vacations "Flu Free Guarantee" program
TNT Vacations announces a Flu-free Guarantee Program to reduce your concerns of traveling to Mexico or any of our destinations in the Caribbean, Nassau or Bermuda!

When you travel to any 3+ sun rated resort offered by TNT Vacations we will double the value of your vacation and provide you with two return stays should you contract the Influenza A H1N1 .

The headlines surrounding the "flu" may have diminished, yet some lingering fears have not. These are the facts: there have been no reports of any H1N1 outbreaks in the resort areas of Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta or Cozumel Mexico and no confirmed cases anywhere else in the Caribbean, Bermuda or Nassau. (There was one confirmed report in Costa Rica.) This compares to over 28,000 cases in the U.S. with 1200 in Massachusetts as of June 25, 2009.

We feel quite strongly that our hotel partners have taken the correct additional measures to ensure the highest level of sanitation and hygiene. If a TNT Vacation guest contracts the strain Influenza A H1N1 while on vacation, their next two vacations will be free of charge. In order to qualify, the traveler must have reserved their stay between May 20, 2009 and July 30, 2009 for travel taking place between May 20, 2009 and September 30, 2009. This applies to new reservations only. Travel with confidence with TNT Vacations!

  • The virus must be confirmed as Influenza A - H1N1. The traveler must provide positive test results from a certified laboratory, taken within five days of their return from the vacation booked through TNT.
  • Certification of the physician who performed the test will be required in order to qualify for this offer.
  • Prior diagnosis or outbreak of the Influenza A - H1N1 prior to departure will void this guarantee.
  • The two return stays are valid for the affected traveler and one companion, with one complimentary stay per year for two years over a similar travel period for the same number of nights and room category.
  • Blackout dates and restrictions apply and are subject to availability.
Travel Alert to Mexico No Longer in Effect

Mexico City, May 15, 2009 – The U.S. Department of State’s travel alert to Mexico due to the H1N1 influenza outbreak is no longer in effect.  This announcement was made right after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lifted its travel warning against all nonessential travel to Mexico.

  • The CDC announced that the “warning” was downgraded to a “Travel Health Precaution,” which is directed at those who are at high risk of complications due to any kind of influenza.

  • Daniel Jernigan, Deputy Director of the CDC’s influenza division, says that there is no evidence that the Influenza A (H1N1) virus is becoming stronger.

  •  “Mexico’s government and tourism authorities are very satisfied with the decision taken by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and consequently, the U.S. Department of State, to lift the H1N1 influenza alert against nonessential travel to Mexico. Our main priority continues to be the safety of our citizens and visitors, and with evidence that the flu appears to be less threatening than originally thought, Mexico is ready to welcome back all of its visitors and offer them the hospitality and services that have always distinguished us,” said Rodolfo Elizondo, Mexico’s Minister of Tourism.

  • It is important to highlight that, according to the CDC, the increasing number of cases that are being seen in the United States and other countries are not directly associated with travel to Mexico.

  • Countries such as Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Italy, Austria, Belgium, United Kingdom and Switzerland have also lifted their advisories against travel to Mexico and have resumed all commercial flights to the country.

  • Carnival Cruise Lines has also announced that they will resume all scheduled port calls to Mexico once all previously modified trips are completed.

  • “There is no doubt that the H1N1 has hit our country very hard; specially the tourism sector, an essential part of our economy. Mexico is known for its capacity of coming out of tough situations even stronger, and this will not be the exception. The travel industry -at all levels- is ready to offer its visitors what they come here for: diversity, culture, relaxation, luxury, adventure, world class infrastructure and most importantly, the best service in the world,” added Oscar Fitch, CEO of the Mexico Tourism Board.

  • For more information on the precautions advised by the CDC and U.S. Department of State, visit their website at www.cdc.gov/travel, and travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/pa/pa_3028.html

Customer Testimonials
I returned from Mexico on April 25th after a fabulous vacation with my children in Riviera Maya.  On our return, we experienced no delays or problems whatsoever passing through the airport, customs or immigration.  We all remained completely healthy and had an amazing time!  We’d go back tomorrow if we could!  As always, I consider Mexico, particular the Riviera Maya area extremely safe, clean and a perfect family vacation spot! - D. Newport

I wanted to let you know that we recently traveled to Mexico (amongst the swine flu hype).  We had a terrific time and would not hesitate to go back!  We love the Iberostar Maya and always find it to be impeccably clean and safe.  The truth is, we had one of the most relaxing vacations ever and didn’t experience any of the virus frenzy until we got home to the US!  Thanks for a great vacation TNT!!!  - A. Dion

Our family had a fantastic trip to the Riviera Maya over school vacation week in April. This was our third visit to the Iberostar Paraiso Maya and our first booking a charter through TNT Vacations. Everything about our vacation was stress-free and delightful. Smooth traveling, wonderful service, and a safe, healthy visit to Mexico. Thank you TNT Vacations for a memorable week. We can't wait to do it again! - A. Greenspan
